My heart remains etched in Hoi An forever, and I love everything about this radiant little town in Central Vietnam, from its terra cotta-laden alleyways to cuisine to its chilled-out beachscape.
Year after year it continues to draw in the masses and is one of the country’s most popular towns for travelers worldwide. It goes without saying, Hoi An deserves a place on any Vietnam itinerary.
About ten years ago when I first visited Hoi An (and kept returning time and time again), the cafe scene was there, but this has continued to grow over the last decade, and these days, especially suits an international crowd.
Cafes in Hoi An are a little different, and have more of a “Westernized” vibe to them, where coffee with milk alternatives is a thing on nearly most menus, and you can definitely indulge in an eggs Benedict for brunch. But I love that the cafes have still retained Hoi An’s original charm in terms of setting.

With that said, here’s a list of my favorite Hoi An cafes which tick all the boxes: ambient, delicious food, incredible coffee, views, and decor to make you swoon — Hoi An style.

1. Moments Hoi An: As pretty as ever
Anyone in the mood for a mango margarita? Yes, please!
Moments Hoi An is one of those Hoi An cafes that’s got everyone abuzz online. Yet it’s no surprise when you scope out the menu, atmosphere, and general setting.
Dubbing themselves as a ‘cafe, tapas and bar’ that’s precisely what you’ll find! And they also claim to have the ‘best coconut coffee in town.’ Iced coffees and fresh juices arrive in glass bottles, and they do orange cold brews, too — which are currently trending in the coffee world.

Indulge in open prosciutto breads, or salmon-topped versions instead.
The cafe itself appears like one of the typical terra-cotta buildings you see all around the Ancient Town (bougainvilleas included), but inside feels a little upmarket with a stunning barfront, giant chandelier, and pink-covered wicker chairs. Almost like a bistro. It’s an ideal spot for a date or even lunch with the gals.
2. Rosie’s Cafe: For some of the yummiest brunch in town
Plates that pop with color, all-day breakfasts, and a healthy spin on meals and juices … Rosie’s Cafe is one of the most popular Hoi An cafes. It’s been around for years, but its popularity doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
Feel as if you’ve stepped inside a jungle – but make it boho!

The menu boasts plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well, in case you were wondering. There’s a tofu scramble, or if you’re not plant-based, you can’t go wrong with the ‘Love You Lox’ — smoked salmon on toasted sourdough. Try the Brunch Tacos or a wholesome bowl if you’re arriving a little later on in the day.
Don’t miss Rosie’s sister cafe either, Buttercup (how dreamy is the name). You’ll also find all-day brekkies here, as well as yummy pastries and cakes, and this spot is amazing for digital nomads.
3. Faifo Coffee: For the best rooftop views in Hoi An
Splashed all over the ‘Gram and dubbed one of the best rooftop views in all of town, Faifo is as charming as Hoi An gets! It’s honestly one of the best Hoi An cafes for taking photos, and from the outdoor rooftop, you can see the whole of the Old Town and the streets below.
Housed within one of the Ancient Town’s olden terra cotta buildings; nón lá’s (conical Vietnamese hats) hang from the ceiling, interior walls are plastered with vintage coffee posters, and lanterns decorate the exterior walls and entrance.

If you’re after a full-on lunch, this ain’t the spot. Instead, Faifo offers light cafe bites like cakes and banh mi. And, of course, excellent Vietnamese coffee — there is an almond milk option, too.
A coffee restaurant? Consider me sold! Whenever I’m deciding on a cafe, excellent coffee is something that always wins me over.
Specializing in artisanal coffee, Phin Coffee Restaurant does a pour-over, v60, Aeropress, and all the quintessential Vietnamese bests, like coconut and egg coffee. There’s even peanut butter coffee.
Although it’s located in the main part of town, enjoy a reprieve from the hustle/bustle with greenery all around, and plants stretching out to say hello. There’s upstairs seating and an outdoor garden. It’s got a relaxed vibe about it — love!

On the food side of things, the menu is a fusion of Vietnamese and Western bites, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Think smoothie bowls for brekkie and classic Hoi An-style white rose dumplings and crispy wontons for lunchtime.
P.S. They also offer coffee-making classes.
5. Cam Coffee n More: Playing with natural elements
I love everything about Cam Coffee n More — a space that feels like you’ve stepped into a warped world between Vietnam and Japan.
Natural elements reign supreme, like tree stumps as table legs and chairs, benches constructed from pallets, rattan light fixtures, and repurposed containers for walls.
Delicious monsters greet you around every turn (along with an overload of other greens), and guitars decorate the walls along with cut-out holes filled with gorgeous ceramics.

This spot sort of reminds me of the cafes in Hanoi but with a more tropical feel. There’s an indoor/outdoor open-plan set-up going on, so the space feels really open yet welcoming.
Expect fabulous coffee options and big portion sizes of food, and the sourdough topped with grilled mushrooms is a winner as well as the smoothie bowls.
6. 25scafe: Super soft interiors
I know it may sound ridiculous, well, maybe not in this day and age where social media rules, but my heart sings whenever I find a dining spot that has put serious thought into the interiors — and by serious thought, I mean, the best way to make foodie shots stand out, teehee.
With minimalist nooks around every turn, speckled white tables, and not your standard glassware, 25scafe is one for the whimsical at heart.

They cater to Hoi An’s demographic of travelers: a lot of Western meals, vegan and vegetarian options, and some classic spins on local cuisine. The veggie toast with green pesto packs a punch full of flavor. The coffee options are also great (with a variety of milk alternatives like oat milk), including a lovely selection of cold brews, and they also serve iced Matcha.
(Has anyone noticed how Matcha is making a serious comeback?)

7. FeFe Roastery: A fab lunch spot near Ba Mu Temple
Facing the iconic Ba Mu Temple, FeFe Roastery exudes a spiritual local sort of calm but takes its coffee roasting business very seriously.
Lanterns flit in the air and the tables and chairs in the front of the cafe are a wonderful space for relaxing, people-watching, and enjoying lunch. But this isn’t the only space and there’s an indoor garden and top-floor seating.

FeFe also sells local craft beer if you’re not in the mood for coffee. Speaking of coffee, there are prepackaged beans for sale here, too, and milk alternatives include oat and soy. Coffee appreciators, this is another cafe that offers coffee workshops.
Don’t leave without trying the signature “ba mu” coffee for just 20k (but it’s only available as a takeaway).
I just love how the food here is beautifully plated. Think deconstructed nachos and toasties topped with avo and poached egg.
8. Sip Hoi An: An epic choice for Happy Hour
Green is clearly a recurring theme among the Hoi An cafes and I’m all here for it!
Sporting an incredible outdoor courtyard, Sip Hoi An feels like a hidden garden oasis (which it pretty much is). It’s actually super cozy. As you enter the cafe, a bougainvillea-covered archway leads the way inside, and the turquoise-colored gates are a color scheme that runs throughout.
A water fountain stands in the courtyard, and mix-matched sofas and seating give it a more relaxed feel.

Take advantage of happy hour, where creative cocktails will make you smile; there’s even a drink topped with a classic Hoi An crispy wonton!
Food wise it’s all-day brunch options, along with finger bites, egg-focused dishes, pasta, burritos, and tacos.
P.S. Enjoy live music in their courtyard garden every Saturday afternoon.
9. fika cafe: Feel creatively inspired
Inviting you in with a smile (which doubles as fika’s logo), a world of terra cotta dreams awaits you. Cute mottos doubling as signage are plastered across the walls, like ‘where the soul is restored’ — an implication of what to expect when entering this chilled-out locale.
Low poufs are for seating, hanging vines and billowing sheets make it all the more eye-catching than it already is and of course, there are lanterns, like, everywhere! And with artwork in corners, feel as if you’re stepping into a warm home.

An outdoor balcony oversees a local alleyway below you, and it’s the type of inspiring cafe that’ll make you want to whip out your pencils and start sketching.
Onto the food: think hearty tomato soup, beetroot toast with almond slithers and avo, or apple crumble cake (and to go with it, order a pot of apple cinnamon tea!).
10. Roving Chillhouse: Among the rice fields
A cafe among the rice fields? Does it get more Vietnamese…
Overlooking the local rice paddies and just a short drive outside the Ancient Town, Roving Chillhouse is not to be missed.
Chill out with your legs hanging over the edge of the walkway/seating area as rice fronds tickle your feet below you — you’re literally that close. It feels like you’re enjoying your very own private picnic in the rice fields.

They serve cocktails, coffee, and local cuisine and also offer cooking classes. I couldn’t think of a better setting for one, to be honest.
11. Mê Hội An: Eclectic
I’m a sucker for a cafe that sells all sorts of things you don’t actually need…but really, really do!
Multiple levels make up Mê Hội An. There’s the cafe area on the bottom floor along with a gift/souvenir shop flaunting tote bags, ceramics, baskets, and all sorts of other lovely lifestyle items for home.

A staircase lined with vintage memorabilia, like old-school posters and bicycles leads you to the upper floor, but the vintage charm doesn’t end there. There are even old-fashioned TV sets and radio stereos in odd places.
The rooftop coffee bar has incredible Old Town vistas, and the setting up here is just as cute as downstairs — cue the red lanterns, patterned curtains, and macrame decor.
Munch down on Vietnamese prawn spring rolls, Hoi An-style, and they also serve egg coffee here. If you’re feeling festively thirsty, arrive in time for Happy Hour! If you’re looking for more unique Hoi An foods to check off while you’re in town, don’t miss our ultimate guide to Hoi An food.
