If you had to ask any local what they love to do in their free time in Singapore, I can guarantee that about 80% of them would say “drinking coffee.” It’s more of a lifestyle in this city and is legit a favorite pastime of many Singaporeans.
The coffee scene here is on POINT, with a new specialty coffee shop popping up every other week. That means, when one does open, they make sure their USPs are really up there – both coffee and interior-wise. As a coffee snob, I always find myself in seventh heaven when it comes to discovering (and enjoying) the best coffee in Singapore.
To be dead honest, I could probably continue this list with at least 30 phenomenal options; there are truly that many of the best coffee shops in Singapore to choose from! But for now, here are my 9 options for the best coffee in Singapore to set you off in the right direction.

1. Apartment coffee: Aesthetic to the max
There’s simply one way to describe Apartment Coffee, and that’s: aesthetic. Everything about this “coffee studio” (as they call themselves) makes you want to a) drink coffee and b) take out your phone and instantly take photographs of the space, the servingware, the lighting…
Interiors-wise (super fan), it’s definitely got a Japandi sort of vibe to it (which is very popular in Singapore). But the highlight is its coffee, the pour-overs to be exact.
Word of warning: as it is literally one of, if not the best coffee in Singapore, this spot is always, and I mean always busy, so be prepared to wait for a table – they don’t accept reservations. But that’s because it was listed as the 6th best coffee in Asia recently!
2. big short coffee: Always something new
Talk about fun! You’re nine times out of ten bound to find something unique and interesting brewing at big short coffee. A lot of times, these are coffees inspired by classic Southeast Asian desserts!
Take the ‘king of chendol’ cold brew, for instance…Using Inzovu Rwanda beans, these are infused with mango pandan, then topped with black thorn durian French cream and handmade pandan chendol noodles. It honestly looks so yummy! (Even though I don’t go gaga for durian, it’s worth a try!)
Another super cool interesting cuppa is the blueberry “umeshu,” inspired by a trip to Taiwan. Upon first glance, you’d think this was some sort of fruit juice, but infused with blueberries and cherry blossoms (yum) is what gives the cold brew coffee its unique coloring!
3. POUT Rooftop Cafe: Coffee with views
Combining two of the city’s iconic features (drinking coffee and rooftop vistas), sit back and enjoy the Singaporean skyline at POUT – one of the best coffee shops in Singapore to sit back and drink in the views.
If you’re used to American-style coffee shops – where you find all sorts of lattes under the sun – then you’ll appreciate this spot, with options like pistachio oat milk latte. Or, try the honeycomb latte!
They also serve a bunch of scrumptious baked goods, for example, cinnamon buns and French pastries. Or, sometimes, if you’re visiting at the right moment, they bake one-day-only delectable cakes and other treats. So there’s always something new for you to try out (and that goes for the cold brew flavors, too).
4. Corner Coffee: For music lovers
Eclectic and vintage: two words that I love and the epitome of Corner Coffee’s entire vibe.
Records line the shelves, old-school teacups are used for serving you coffee, and every day there’s a vase filled with fresh blooms on the tables.
In fact, this is another one of the best coffee shops in Singapore that takes a page out of Japan’s cool coffee scene books. It dubs itself a “kissa.” Haven’t heard the phrase before? Basically, it’s a Japanese cafe-cum-bar where patrons deliberately come for the music… It’s not purely played in the coffee shop for ambiance but intentionally selected with dedication and care. That’s precisely what Corner Coffee is all about, too. And in this case, it’s specifically jazz music.
On the coffee front, they source beans from all over, and I love that they support small-batch brewers, like microroasters from DoiTung, Chiang Mai.

5. Kurasu Singapore: Kyoto in Singapore
If you’ve traveled to Japan before, come to Kurasu to get your fix of Japanese-style coffee! More specifically, specialty coffee hailing from Kyoto.
As one would imagine, everything is distinctly Japanese, from the coffee beans to the overall design of the coffee shop. It really does transport you to Japan from the moment you step inside the warm wooden doors.
And because this is all things Japanese, of COURSE you can expect to find some incredible matcha at Kurasu, too – if that’s how you prefer to get your caffeine kick!
Their beans and other coffee accessories are available to purchase as well. Do yourself a favor…their coffee ceramics; I die!
6. Common Man Coffee Roasters: Multiple locations
If it’s not your first travel rodeo in the Lion City, you’ve SURELY heard of Common Man Coffee Roasters – a long-standing institute/favorite in its own right.
Therefore, it would be a tragedy not to include it in this list of where to find the best coffee in Singapore. I always say that when any F&B outlet has been running for over a decade, you know they must be doing something right. On top of that, in a place like Singapore, where the specialty coffee game is so strong, places open and close all.the.time., you doubly know these guys must mean serious business!
Not just that, but they boast their own barista academy. I mean…You know you’ll never be disappointed with a coffee here! They’re one of the GOATs for sure and even offer coffee tasting courses.
7. Analogue Anonymous: An urban-cool space
Not just a place for the best coffee in Singapore, Analogue Anonymous pays homage to times past, tripling as one of the coolest coffee shops in Singapore (well, technically, a coffee bar), a record store, AND a photo studio!
It totally suits Singapore’s trend-setting scene – which, if you hadn’t realised prior, there is a major wave of cool-kid things happening over in this bustling city.
The space is relatively new but well worth checking out if you’re into any of the above three categories. Plus, you’re bound to bump into some of Singapore’s coolest content creators out there here.
8. Cata Coffee: For the espresso lovers
A strong, Italian-style espresso is my favorite type of coffee. I’ve never really been one for coffees with all these crazy syrups or fancy air-pressed machinery. Now, let me just tell you, the espresso bar at Cata Coffee is legit, and each cup comes with that perfect crema on top.
(There’s nothing I hate more than ordering an espresso and there’s no crema or one that fades instantly.)
If it’s not an espresso I’m ordering from here, then it’s the cortado. Too good!
From Ethiopia to Rwanda to Bolivia, this coffee shop sources its beans from the world’s leading coffee-producing countries, ethically. From farm to cup, as they say.
I’m also low-key in love with how colorful the shop is inside! Just look up.
9. Double Shot: Single Origin Experts
With its minimalist-cool interiors, this is another specialty joint for the best coffee in Singapore that remains fuss-free and instead focuses on delivering total flavor and a perfectly roasted cup!
Just as the name states, they are all about strong coffee (double shots), which I very much appreciate. If you’re ordering weak, milky coffee, I just have one question to ask you…Why?
Double Shot also infuses its cold brews along with the seasons, playing around with botanical notes such as rosemary and apple. Also here, you’ll only find single-origin beans on the menu.
