When I say rooftops in Singapore, I’m not just talking clubs. Often, it’s the first thing people think of when you mention a rooftop locale. Instead, this city has an interesting mixture of rooftop cafes, bars, creative spaces, and even gardens.

Of course, you do have your fancy rooftop clubs or pools to hang around. But I’m not here to focus on the obvious spaces that are synonymous with Singapore, like the 57-storey SkyPark Infinity Pool at Marina Bay Sands. (Don’t get me wrong, it is amazing. However, you have to be a hotel guest to access it.) Instead, I’ve curated a list of rooftops in Singapore open to all.

Just like with everything else this city has to offer, the rooftops in Singapore showcase a little something for everyone. Whether you’re after a fun night out, more of a fine dining experience, a high tea, or a poolside location to laze around for the day – there are no disappointments here!

1. Las Palmas Rooftop Bar: The perfect poolside chill

If you’re on the hunt for a poolside vibe among the rooftops in Singapore, head to Las Palmas Rooftop Bar! It’s an idyllic spot for cocktails and a refreshing dip, cooling off from the island’s sweltering temperatures.

Cabanas are set up around the pool for when you need to catch a break from the sunshine, and these also make for a lovely spot to enjoy lunch and an Aperol Spritz. For visitors not so keen on lazing about in this section, there is also the indoor bar right next to the pool.

While it’s a dreamy locale for the day, if you are here come nightfall and don’t plan on getting wet, this rooftop bar feels like an epic tropical-infused option for evening drinks and getting a little festive.

2. POUT Rooftop Cafe: Amazing CBD views

POUT is the latest word on everyone’s lips when talking rooftops in Singapore! It’s certainly been doing the rounds on social media, that’s for sure.

Situated in the CBD, it’s got a distinct cafe-like ambiance, and most of the space is indoors. Although there is outside seating with a sweet wrap-around balcony vibe going on.

The views here are fantastic; I’m talking city skyline (especially considering its location). You can snap a really cool shot through one of its porthole-style windows overlooking skyscrapers and some of the city’s most iconic buildings and landmarks, like Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer.

3. SKAI: The highest in Singapore

Perched a whopping 70 floors from the ground, it’s time to introduce the city’s highest restaurant: SKAI!

Panoramas sweep across Marina Bay with the water below you, but naturally, because it’s so high up, you literally see over the city. As one could imagine, the views are hard to beat at this one.

Yes, it’s a restaurant, but you have a few options to choose from here. Arrive for lunch, dinner, a multi-course fiesta, evening drinks, or a fancy high tea!

Also check out SKAI After Dark, where DJs add the mood and late-night cocktails are totally a thing. It’s a vibe, especially with all of the city lit up below you!

4. 1-Arden: Restaurants, urban garden and more

How many times in your lifetime can you say you’ve visited the world’s highest food forest? Or a food forest for that matter!

Bringing you a multitude of dining-centric options, discover a wood-fired grill and bar (Kaarla) and a modern Japanese kappo (Oumi) spread across one level. And that would be 51 floors from ground zero, FYI! There is also a Latin-European bistro (Sol & Luna), but this is situated on the 17th floor.

Not only will you find the restaurant scene here, but 1-Arden is home to an urban farm planted across 10,000 sq ft of outdoor space. It’s a really cool concept, strolling around the food garden so high up in the sky.

Good to know: for obvious reasons, the outdoor garden does close when the weather is bad, which makes sense as you’re in an open space.

But it gets even better … Up in the Food Forest, you can book an afternoon high tea experience and sample some of the ingredients fresh from the garden. I’m all here for this one!

5. Alani: Get your Greek on

I love Mediterranean food…I love brunch hour…And, well, I love a good rooftop. What could be better than a combination of all three of these? Alani proves just how well the three work together, creating a ‘Greek brunch oasis with a communal vibe’ – as they aptly put it.

With an abundance of greenery all around you, net mesh billowing in the wind, and an overall blue and white color palette, you are totally transported.

What to order food-wise? The sarikopita is a savory Greek donut made from phyllo. It’s stuffed with feta, nigella seeds, and herbs, then rolled and deep-fried. The lemony roast chicken is also divine. But there are so many great dishes to choose from, honestly. I suggest ordering a whole bunch for the table to share. That’s the best way to eat Mediterranean/Greek food, anyway!

6. Spago: At Marina Bay Sands

For anyone knowledgeable or interested in the restaurant/chefing or food world, you can’t really consider yourself a true foodie if you haven’t heard of Wolfgang Puck. The famous Austrian chef and restaurateur has restaurants around the world, including one right here in Singapore: Spago!

An ideal spot for couples or anyone looking to treat themselves during their time in the city, this is one of those special restaurant moments where the setting is everything. i.e., dining at one of the iconic rooftops in Singapore atop the Marina Bay Sands! You don’t need to be a hotel guest to dine here either.

Here, the Michelin award-winning chef has curated a menu of his signature Californian cuisine.

Take note: There is the main dining room, which is indoors (but still with views to boot), and then the terrace, which serves lunch, cocktails, and small plates.

7. SUSHISAMBA Singapore: 52 floors high

Bold, colorful, and boasting 360-degree views of the Lion City no matter where you turn, SUSHISAMBA is such a stunning rooftop option. My favorite part, other than the vistas, is the food, more specifically, the sushi.

Not limited to one type of cuisine, though, enjoy the Singaporean rooftop restaurant’s take on a fusion highlighting Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian – from flavor to culture!

Choose between various menus including an all-day option, dessert, the Vivo Business Lunch, omakase set menu, or the Algeria dinner menu (time of day dependent).

The actual setting is gorgeous! And I am obsessed with all of the decor. Plus, they offer private dining spaces if you’re here for a special occasion. Or, there’s the energy-filled Samba room, where samba parties kick off.

8. HighHouse: 282 meters above the ground

Looking for an elevated – excuse the pun – night out in the city, where the food, cocktails AND good times are always flowing? I’d strongly recommend HighHouse! Much more than just a restaurant or even a spot for evening drinks, there’s this sultry, cool feel to the place.

(If you’ve ever dined at the popular Peruvian-Japanese-inspired Nikkei in Cape Town, South Africa, it very much gives me the same sort of feeling.)

Designed as a rooftop setting nearly 300 meters up, evenings here are extra special thanks to Singapore’s glistening lights all around you. Plus, when the DJs come on board, it becomes a perfect playground to dress up, mingle, drink, and enjoy really delicious Pan-Asian-meets-South American cuisine!

From high up to down low, Singapore has so much to see and do for a city! From rooftop expeditions to fun things to do on the ground. For a cultural day out, explore these interesting museums which take you on the path beyond the typical. Or, feel the buzz of local life at some of Singapore’s most visited and beloved markets. Looking for further things to do beyond the typical tourist offerings? Why not spend your time enjoying some of the more unusual things to do in Singapore!

On the food front, for a taste of traditional bakes or trendier options, hit up the city’s top bakeries. Here are my favorites!
