About Heather Nilson
"Driven by lifelong wanderlust, I consider myself an early adopter of the digital nomad lifestyle. I began traveling solo in 2008, and lived nomadically from 2012-2015, traveling around the United States working as a writer, photographer, and editor. This was before the popular explosion of #vanlife, etc. and almost no one understood what I was doing, but I loved it. My travels are quests to find the most beautiful and interesting places that I can, then to figure out how to experience them with minimal crowds or time pressure. It is exhilarating to find the right mix between long stretches of solitude punctuated by memorable contact with people, cultures, and history. My special love is light adventure travel: road tripping, camping, hiking, and exploring both wild and civilized places on foot."
